Assorted anecdotes in the life of Lord Runolfr Orthlokarr Ulfsson, a fencer, dancer, and brewer in the Society for Creative Anachronism.
Lately this has turned into more of a cooking blog, though.

Trenchmore
There was, of course, a ball at the Royal University of Meridies. I didn't take video, but Fiona's husband did.
Some of the dancers said I was understating things when I said that Trenchmore is a moderately aerobic dance. The music is a live band, by the way; it's nice to see that becoming a more regular feature.
Would you happen to know where I might find a recording of the music used for this dance? I have searched high and low and come up with nothing. I would like to try to teach this dance at an event this October, but would need music to do so for some of the people there.

ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll find a piece of music called "Trenchmore". One that's commonly used in the SCA is "Tomorrow the Fox".
ReplyDeleteYou might try the recordings available from the SCA Dance Music MP3 Collection: see the sidebar under the "SCA Links" section.
